SHS Artic Lions team for 2022.

On Saturday, Feb. 19 our Arctic Lions Polar Plunge team braved the cold weather and plunged into Deam Lake. The air temperature was 31 & the water was 34 degrees; the kids were definitely "Freezin' For a Reason".

The team was able to raise almost $2600 for the Special Olympics. There were 25 team members with 23 able to "plunge".  This was the largest team ever at Salem High School.

The SHS team sponsor, Angie Phipps, said "Our next project is the unified basketball game scheduled for Saturday, 3/12 at 6:00 PM.  Teams will be made up of SO athletes & SHS students.  Our students will also be coaching, officiating, cheering, dancing, singing the anthem, & announcing.  Thanks to Mr. Wade-Swift & the SLNN, the game will also be live streamed this year.  We are very excited & hope to see a lot of you there."

Lions Unified t-shirts can still be ordered until noon on Friday, Feb. 25.  Click here to order online: https://lionsunified2022.itemorder.com/

SCS is proud of our student, staff, and community support for Lions Unified and Special Olympics.
