It's that time of year again for the Annual M(art)ch Madness! March is not only for basketball and shamrocks; it is also Youth Art Month. We are having our own M(ART)CH MADNESS to see what piece of art is voted the champion for this year's contest.
Our theme for this year is Illustrations created by Illustrators. Illustrations are a unique art form in that they help to tell a story or can carry a story without even needing words. You can't judge a book by its cover, but there is something magical about illustrations that literally draw people into a story and affect how you experience a book.
We hope you will participate with us! You can vote for your favorite illustrations here: https://forms.gle/LZ52zy6Dyfad18rq5

Kendall introduced jump roping and Zander introduced ecosystems at the creek. They had to choose a state standard and build the lesson around that standard. It is a beautiful day to take learning outside!

Taking dual credit classes in high school is just one of the many benefits of being a student at Salem High School. This graphic only represents classes offered through Ivy Tech, we also have students taking classes through Vincennes and IU. The dual credits will transfer to ALL Indiana colleges and universities and most out of state schools as well. That means many SHS graduates that go on to college are able to graduate after 3 years, saving several thousand dollars in tuition.

Attention parents: This letter was sent home with your child in January. We will be conducting this state-wide Indiana Youth Survey in the next 10 days. Thank you for your cooperation!

Senior Delainey Predmore was named an Indianapolis NBA All-Star Rising Star in association with the NBA All-Star Legacy Grants. This award includes a $2,400 scholarship for each Rising Star payable to the college, university, or postsecondary institution they attend after high school graduation.
Predmore was nominated by the Washington County Family YMCA, who said Delainey Predmore is a driven young woman who cares deeply for her community.
As stated by her nominator, "Delainey Predmore has provided years of consistent service and dedication with the Washington County Family YMCA. Before Delainey accepted a position as a Day Camp Counselor, she volunteered with our Summer Day Camp Program as a Counselor in Training.”
In addition to her work with the Washington County Family YMCA, Delainey is a member of the National Honor Society and the winter guard, as well as the Salem High School marching band. She is also a member of several other school clubs and organizations, including the student council and Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD).
Delainey serves her community as the current 4-H president, camp counselor at Camp Rivervale, Salem band concession stand volunteer, and Sunday school assistant teacher at Wesley Chapel UMC.
Her nominator continued to say, “While I have been her direct supervisor for the past three years, I have had the opportunity to watch her grow personally, and as a member of our team. Delainey is a positive influence on her peers and a strong asset to any group that she is placed in.”
Congratulations, Delainey! #LionPride
