Late last night we received an email containing a bomb threat. EW and WW did not receive this threat.
Upon receipt our local and state police were notified. Our buildings and grounds have been searched.
We also believe this threat is not credible however out of an abundance of caution Salem Community Schools will not be in session today, April 14, 2023.
We will have an elearning day on May 5, 2023. We will not be sending the Prosser bus this morning.

You're never too old for the Easter Bunny! Salem High School Lunch Ladies gave out Easter Eggs today at lunch . Some of the eggs contained gift cards provided by McDonalds!




Salem High School's Science Club is planting trees Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Trees will be planted around the north side of the soccer field. The club is also giving away trees to anyone who would like one: white oak, black cherry, tulip poplar, pecans and Norway Spruce. Last day of school: May 23.
Graduation: May 27 at 2 p.m. in the main gym.


Salem Schools will be operating on a 2 hour delay today, Thursday, January 26.
The AM Prosser bus will not run.

Lady Lions volleyball team gets the win in a thrilling 5 set game vs. Southwestern. 1st win of the season for the Lady Lions and 1st career win for Coach Barrett!

C-team and JV volleyball teams both won 2-0 vs. Southwestern.

The Lions fall to the Cougars tonight in 2022 season opener. Final score 40-7. The Lions will travel to Silver Creek for another MSC showdown next Friday. Great crowd in the stands for both Salem and NH tonight!

Lady Lions volleyball came up short tonight against the Madison Lady Cubs in C team, JV and Varsity action. Tomorrow night the Lions football team opens their season at home vs. MSC rival North Harrison. Kick off is 7:00.

Lady Lions soccer team falls to Seymour 8-0 in their season opener.

SHS picture day will be Aug. 18. Students are given a paper with a code to order pictures. Parents will be able to view the pictures online prior to ordering.

SCS is looking for individuals interested in being a bus driver. Training will be provided. After training, the school will reimburse for the physical. Pay is $90 per day on a regular route. Contact Dee Dee Zink at the superintendent's office with any questions (812.883.4437).


Good evening Salem parents. Due to a bus driver shortage for tomorrow, bus 23 students will be picked up later than usual (possibly an hour). If your students ride bus 23 and if possible, we encourage you to bring your student to school. If your student can't be picked up later, please contact the school and your student will be excused.
