Play practiceThe spring production is “The Curious Savage,” written by John Patrick. “The Curious Savage” is a story about Mrs. Savage's step children who have her placed in a sanatorium in order to get their hands on the $10 million dollars her husband left her. The quirky residents of the sanatorium quickly become Mrs. Savage's new family.

SHS English teacher Mark Carter will direct the play and said the story is a comedy and is “found to be funny, but a touching play that has a good message about greediness, kindness and acceptance.

“I felt like I had the perfect students to cast in the roles,” he said.

Senior Carolyn Casey is playing Mrs. Savage, the main character. Residents of the sanatorium include: Florence, played by Elaine Houchin; Hannibal, played by senior Brayden Hawn; Fairy May, played by Natalee Wells; Jeffrey, played by sophomore Finn Kritzer; Mrs. Paddy, played by senior Raewyn Perry.
